MORE ABOUT THE CASTLE’S ORIGIN

The castle was originally a powerful place that protected the plains against Saracen and Italian invasions. From the 12th to the 18th centuries, it was an important place for the seigneury. Later, it was damaged during the French Revolution and fell into ruin until the late 1920s. In 1929, Mr. André Vayson de Pradenne acquired the place and started restoring during 10 years.
Unfortunately, on August 21, 1944, one day before the liberation of Paris, German troops set fire to the castle. Then, in 1959, a new restauration was started by Dr. Mouliérac-Lamoureux. In 1993, an association took over the preservation of this heritage. Finally, in 2019, Fanny and Jean-Baptiste Vayson de Pradenne took back the reins of the castle and its preservation.
